Amid a lulling economy, some are looking to capitalize on better-than-ever deals this coming Black Friday 2009.

The year 2009 is expected to bring intense competition among stores to strive for those coveted Black Friday sales. Consumers come out in droves on the day after Thanksgiving each year in an effort to complete a large portion of their holiday shopping on the first day of the holiday shopping season. The day after Thanksgiving will bring super buys on electronics and clothing among other consumer goods.

Black Friday of a Different Color

Traditionally, Black Friday is known as the day of the year that brings retail stores out of the red and into the black. However, in down economy, Black Friday 2009 is expected to show a twist on recent years. Families are cutting back this year, sacrificing some of their own needs to make end's meet.

Some people are expecting gifting to be restricted to a minimum so that day after Thanksgiving shoppers can indulge in some necessities for themselves. Shoppers will take advantage of great deals on winter clothes and accessories, along with major electronics purchases for themselves. Gifts will be on a smaller scale than in years past.

Black Friday Electronics Deals

Black Friday 2009 will promote some excellent electronics deals on LCD televisions and laptop computers. This year has already brought surprises in the industry, with Best Buy and Walmart both offering "back to school" deals on laptops around $330. LCD televisions have surpassed their competitors for most economic and energy efficient models. Expect to be able to buy a 32 in LCD television for around $299 on Black Friday.

Cyber Monday

A recent phenomenon in the popular after Thanksgiving shopping weekend is the introduction of Cyber Monday. This is the Monday after Thanksgiving in which weary shoppers have had time to rest from busy weekend activities in time to shop for major deals from online competitors. While many online stores offer deals all weekend, the best ones are to be found on Cyber Monday, with free shipping abounding through the online shopping community.

Secret Deals

Finding out Black Friday specials and sales ahead of time takes some digging, but can be profitable to shoppers who want to make the most of their holiday shopping budget. Several websites and forums dedicate themselves to revealing secret ads and sales that are supposed to be kept secret from shoppers.

Major retail giants like Best Buy, Wal-Mart and Kohl's go to great lengths to make sure that their ads are not leaked too early. This isn't just for a mysterious effect, but instead to keep competitors from matching or beating their prices. Become a member of some Black Friday watch websites and mailing lists. Invest in an E-book on Black Friday strategy in order to get the most out of the busy shopping day.
